Lyrics

[intro]

[Verse]

We’ve nowhere else to go
We’ve nowhere else to turn
We’re kneeling at your door
Singing come near come here
We need your kingdom now
Exchange it for our doubt
We’re kneeling at your door
Singing come near come here

[pc]

Come near come here
Come near

[Chorus]

God of the breakthrough
Your promises stand true
You haven’t failed us yet
You haven’t failed us yet
Miracle maker
Our hope and our Savior
You haven’t failed us yet
You haven’t failed us yet

[Verse]

You’ve shown us who You are
You’ve etched it on our hearts
So we’re crying out for more
Singing come near come here
So pour Your spirit down
As our praise is rising now
We’re crying out for more
Singing come near come here

[pc]

Come near come here
Come near

[Chorus]

God of the breakthrough
Your promises stand true
You haven’t failed us yet
You haven’t failed us yet
Miracle maker
Our hope and our Savior
You haven’t failed us yet
You haven’t failed us yet

[Verse]

You’ve shown us who You are
You’ve etched it on our hearts
So we’re crying out for more
Singing come near come here
So pour Your spirit down
As our praise is rising now
We’re crying out for more
Singing come near come here

[pc]

Come near come here
Come near

[Chorus]

God of the breakthrough
Your promises stand true
You haven’t failed us yet
You haven’t failed us yet
Miracle maker
Our hope and our Savior
You haven’t failed us yet
You haven’t failed us yet

[c tag]

You haven't failed us yet
You haven't failed us yet

[outro]

We’ve nowhere else to go
We’ve nowhere else to turn
We’re kneeling at your door
Singing come near come here

© 2020 Great Day To Die Music / Goose and Elder Publishing (ASCAP), Great Day To Die Works / Mom Played Dad Sang and I Made Music / Sea Eagle Music (BMI) “God of the Breakthrough” is an anthem written from desperation to have God intervene in impossible situations. We had seen people in our community over the past few months going through maddening life matters: cancer treatments, heart attacks, surgeries, and friends passing away. When we have nowhere else to go, we want God near; His presence can change everything. When we sing “God of the breakthrough, Your promises stand true. You haven’t failed us yet,” it’s a reminder to us that though we don’t have all the answers in life, we can always depend on his presence being near to us in broken times, to hold onto his faithfulness.
